'Emerald Cascade’ is an unusual honey locust that has a weeping form, creating an umbrella habit. Unlike many honey locust, ‘Emerald Cascade’ is reported as being thornless. The cascading effect of the branches is quite beautiful with the feather-like pinnate leaves. In late spring to early summer large yellow-green flower spikes appear across the tree, providing nectar for many pollinators. The green leaves turn to a bright golden yellow in the fall. ‘Emerald Cascade’ may reach 8-9 ft in height and width in 10 years. ‘Emerald Cascade’ can handle full sun in most climates. It is also fairly drought tolerant and easy to grow. ‘Emerald Kascade’ is an alternative spelling for this selection.
