‘Renee’ is a special witch hazel. ‘Renee’ is one of the first variegated forms of Hamamelis x intermedia. The orange spider like blooms are brilliant hanging off the branches during the early winter. In the spring the variegated leaves leaf out with creamy green on green variegation. Found as a sport on the popular Hamamelis ‘Jelena’ by Robert Wilkinson, ‘Renee’ was named after his wife, Hope, whose middle name is Renee. From our understanding this is the first time ‘Renee’ has ever been released.
