Picea glauca ‘Mac Gold’, also sold as ‘McConnell’s Gold’ is a slow-growing, upright evergreen conifer with a dense, pyramidal habit. In spring, it produces dazzling cream-white to golden new growth that truly makes the plant shine in the landscape, before maturing to rich blue-green foliage by summer. As it matures, it may also develop striking red cones, adding additional ornamental interest. ‘Mac Gold’ typically reaches 5–8 ft tall and about 3 ft wide in 10 years.
